I have been using this rod for 3 seasons in small streams in southern tassie. I usually fish at least 3-4 times a week and in some thick country yet this rod still looks brand new. It gives a great fight to 1lb fish yet I have landed 10lb plus fish with it. If you fish small tight streams then add this rod to your collection. Also, it is an incredible value. My sage now collects dust. To see it in action and being put to the test look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lHMXlHBcpU

I ordered a 6'6" 3 wt, online, in time for the Victorian season-opening and have waved this magic wand over a few little streams near home. I say it's magic because it a) seems to extract fish from unlikely places and b) it makes me seem like an OK caster. It's accounted for a superb 42cm hen fish in magnificent condition, which did indeed bend it, a couple of 30cm samples as well as some sprats. I fished for 5 hours straight and didn't feel fatigued at all, such is the feather weight nature of the thing, but can nevertheless put a nymph down 15m out quite easily. If you are thinking of going small this summer, don't hesitate. You'll fall under its spell, like me, and get a whole new appreciation for modest fish in micro waters. And Mike, I'd love to add a photo of the proof!
